Technical Specs
The Biotechnology used by Biosan® consists of a method for increasing the concentration of colonies of microorganisms formed in a continuous and/or discontinuous flow, which uses biomass as a means of removing organic and inorganic contaminants from the effluent, in which an adsorption stage is followed by a biological degradation phase through the anaerobic digestion of properly selected and biotechnologically activated microorganisms, leaving them extremely capable of absorbing and adsorbing the compounds that make up the contaminant fraction of effluents or sewage, such as: organic matter (BOD, COD, total solids), nutrients (phosphorus and nitrogen).
For this purpose, the Biosan® system uses reactors in which the support medium itself acts as a piston flow for microbial development inside, serving to develop a biofilm in which the contaminating compounds are adsorbed by the internal wall of the support medium and thus provide a supply for cellular digestion, which takes place inside the support parts. There are a total of 4 treatment stages, which at the end of the filtering and purification process generate standard class c2 water at the outlet (equivalent to that of rivers and rain).
The main function of these stages is to treat the organic load coming from the effluent. The main characteristic of this colony is that it acts in biological degradation, does not promote activated sludge and does not require maintenance in the reactor.
The function of this stage is to stabilize the elements of the effluent and bacteria from the treatment of the first two stages. This is where BOD and COD are removed through filtration and natural aeration due to the filter mesh.
The function of this stage is the final filtration and polishing of the effluent from the third stage. At this stage the effluent no longer has any sediment!
The effluent goes through all stages of treatment, generating at the exit of the system an effluent for disposal whose purity is equivalent to that found in river and rainwater. Therefore, depending on local legislation, the effluent can be, in an ecologically correct way, returned directly to a watercourse, or even dumped into the rainwater system. However, the most common is to use an infiltration ditch, often smaller than a traditional drainage field, returning this water directly to the ground. It is noteworthy that, due to the quality of the effluent to be discarded, even if there is a water table a few meters from the ground, it will not be polluted.
Segments
BIOSAN, as an innovative leader in ecological sanitation solutions, has the necessary versatility to serve different segments with efficiency and sustainable commitment. Our solutions, focused on sewage treatment, stand out as a response to growing demands for responsible environmental practices.
Below, we highlight some of the segments that BIOSAN can serve:
We offer effective sewage treatment solutions for homes, providing a healthy and sustainable environment for families. Having the capacity to treat much more volume of sewage in an area up to 20x smaller than a traditional septic tank.
We implement treatment systems at the municipal level, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting sustainability in communities.
We develop solutions adapted to the specific needs of healthcare facilities, ensuring safe and efficient waste treatment. It is noteworthy that Biosan’s proprietary anaerobic bacteria blend can treat all hospital sewage, surviving the chemical products frequently used to realize hospital asepsis.
We contribute to healthier educational environments by integrating sewage treatment systems in educational institutions.
We present sustainable alternatives for the tourism sector, reducing environmental impact and promoting responsible practices.
We collaborate with sustainable construction projects, offering sanitation solutions that align with environmental standards and helping partners achieve smaller environmental footprints, thus helping their ESG goals.
BIOSAN is committed to continually exploring new opportunities and partnerships, adapting our solutions to meet the specific needs of various sectors.
Whatever the segment, our expertise in sewage treatment is ready to promote responsible environmental practices and contribute to healthier communities around the world.
